BITMO is run by a Board of BITMO tenants. They set up the BITMO Community Fund to get resources where they can make a difference – helping people affected by the cost of living crisis, help people get training to help with getting a job, and to invest in small environmental improvements to streets and green spaces that can bring communities together. From June 2026 the Community Fund can also provided a limited amount of new school uniform.
What can you apply for?
BITMO’s community fund helps tenants who need support to buy essential things for their homes. The outcome of your application depends on your situation and the information and proof you provide. All decisions are made by BITMO management.
You can apply for help with basic appliances such as a fridge freezer, cooker or washing machine. You can also apply for small furnishing items such as bedding, kitchen items, curtains, rugs, bedroom storage or other small essential items.
BITMO can help with the cost of some essential school uniform items for children and young people.
BITMO can now help 50 families in need with new school uniforms. If your application is agreed, you could receive up to £100 in school uniform for each child in secondary school and up to £50 per child in primary school.
This support is only available to BITMO tenants who receive Council Tax Support.
