Our History

In the late 1980s, Belle Isle North Estate Management Board was formed as a partnership between residents and council to manage the lower part of the estate (nearer Hunslet). Belle Isle Tenant Management Organisation was formed in 2004 after a ballot of tenants. It now also covers the upper part of the estate (nearer Middleton) and although it still works closely with the Council, it has greater powers and independence.
