Belle Isle Makeovers

22 April 2024

There are some areas of Belle Isle that need a bit of extra love and attention to look their best. The BITMO Board has set aside some funds to make improvements that are tenant led.

If you think somewhere in Belle Isle needs improving, here’s what you can do:

Talk to your neighbours – what would you like to see?

Fill in the online form or ring the Community Development Team on 0113 3878 2190.

BITMO staff will meet you and your neighbours on site and discuss your ideas. You will need to show you have the support of people from at least two other households.

There may be a further visit from BITMO Board Members.

The decision whether to go ahead will be taken at the BITMO Board meeting. You and your neighbours are welcome to attend the meeting. Meetings are held at the BITMO offices, and you can see a list of meeting dates here.

Please note that it may take a few months to get a decision – the BITMO Board normally meets every two months. The sooner you start talking to your neighbours and then make contact with BITMO, the sooner your project can be considered.

BITMO’s Board has opened a new Winter Warmth Fund for this winter. The Board understand the cost of living crisis that is affecting many people and have allocated money from their budget to pay for goods that can help you and your family keep warm this winter.

BITMO households in need of extra support can apply for a winter warmth pack which will contain large fleecy sherpa blankets, hot water bottles with covers and fleecy socks, with the amounts depending on how many people are in our household.
