The next Belle Isle Repair Cafe is on Saturday 21 March from 1-4pm at BITMO’s GATE.
The litter picking group meets outside BITMO’s GATE at 11am, picks litter for two hours then comes in for free tea and toasties.
There are free hot drinks for everyone at the repair cafe (last toastie order at 3pm).
Councillor Rob Chesterfield is available to discuss any local or council issues 1.30-2.30pm.
There’s a Gala planning meeting at 3pm. All welcome to join in.
You are welcome just to come, have a seat, a hot drink and a toastie, use the Wi-Fi and see what’s going on
And that’s before we have spoken about the repair cafe itself! Our fixers will try to mend anything you have got that’s electrical/mechanical like lamps, strimmers or games, and our stitchers will mend clothes, bags, cushions or most things made of material. We can also sharpen kitchen knives or scissors.
Have you got any fixing skills yourself? We are looking for more electrical/mechanical fixers, bike fixers and anyone with cobbling skills – shoes, leather bags and belts. Come along and see the next one, and see if you can join in future.
