Safe Pedestrian Access to Belle Isle Circus

30 September 2025

Belle Isle Circus is important to the local community both as a place to cross roads when walking North-South or East-West, and as a large green space with huge potential which has had big improvements in recent years.

Trevor, Gerry and John are Belle Isle residents who have launched a petition for safe pedestrian access to Belle Isle Circus.

“As Belle Isle residents we are asking Leeds City Council to carry out a study of how to bring about safe pedestrian access to the Circus. This could include pedestrian crossings, traffic lights, traffic calming and a 20mph zone. We ask Leeds to finish the study in time to include the outcomes in the 2026/27 budget.”

You can sign the petition online here, or you can download a paper version below.
