BITMO’s Board is concerned about how the cost of living is affecting tenants in Belle Isle. We can’t help or support everyone at the same time – that is the job of the government. We are starting with trying to support families affected by the 2-child benefit cap and the benefit cap. If you have more than 2 children and one or more of them were born after April 2017, the 2-child benefit cap reduces the benefits you can get for looking after your children. The benefit cap reduces the overall amount of benefits your family can get. We think this causes real hardship for Belle Isle families.
