Belle Isle Gala

The Belle Isle Gala 2025 will be held on 5 July from 12-3pm at Windmill Primary School, LS10 3HQ and Coopers Field.

So far we have the following confirmed:

Fire engine from Hunslet Fire Station and a police car

Herd Farm Climbing Wall

Four giant inflatables from Breeze

Hot meals will cost no more than £4.50 and cakes and snacks no more than £1.50.

St John’s Ambulance will be present in case of any accidents

A brass quintet from Opera North

In Harmony Opera North Choirs, with children from Windmill Primary, Low Road Primary, Clapgate Primary and Sharp Lane Primary

Performances from DAZL (dance), Diamond Twirlers and Supreme Starlets (majorettes) and Royal Marine Cadets.

The Royal Marine Cadets will also be offering camouflage face painting, a Morse code machine, whack-a-seal and throwing ropes.

The Lord Mayor is unable to attend, but will be represented by the Vice-Chair of Council, Councillor Barry Anderson.

Please come on foot or bus if at all possible. If you are driving, the car park of Springwell Academy will be open 12-3pm. It’s the school opposite Coopers Field on Belle Isle Road, next to the floodlit football pitches. Please don’t park on Windmill Road or Winrose Garth, or on the central verge.

The Gala was planned by a group that met 9 times since the last Gala. There are local residents, councillors, and staff from BITMO, Leeds Fed and Places for People.

There will also be a meeting after the Gala on Saturday 19 July at 3pm at BITMO’s GATE to talk about how it went and how we can make it even better for 2026.
