Belle Isle Gala

The Belle Isle Gala 2024 will be held on 6 July from 12-3pm at Windmill Primary School, LS10 3HQ

We have the following organisations and attractions booked:

Herd Farm Climbing Wall (see below) kindly sponsored by Places for People housing association.

St John’s Ambulance

Four giant Breeze inflatables

Police – van, mini uniforms for kids to try on

Fire engine

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Abigail Marshall Katung will be present from 12pm-1.30pm.

Stalls, displays from local dance, majorette and gymnastics groups

Sports taster sessions run by Hunslet Rugby Foundation, kindly sponsored by Leeds Federated Housing Association.

At 1.30pm there will be an event held at the Belle Isle Road entrance to Parkside Fields to rename them as “Coopers Field”.

LOW COST FOOD:

Burgers, hot dogs, chips, cakes, tea and coffee in the school hall

Bacon, sausage, egg sandwiches and chips cooked by The Welcome Centre (St John & St Barnabas Church)

In Parkside changing rooms: sweets, crisps, ice pops, tea and coffee

Ice cream van

Buns by Belle Isle Community Kitchen

Patties, sausage rolls including vegetarian and GF options

We will add to this list as we get confirmations.

The Gala has been planned by a group that met once a month from January. There were local residents, councillors, and staff from BITMO, Leeds Fed and Places for People. There will also be a meeting after the Gala to look at how it went and begin planning for the Gala in 2025. It will be held on Saturday 20 July at 3pm at BITMO’s GATE and you would be very welcome to come along.

    Free food and activities all summer

    For the third year running, BITMO is offering free food and activities for three days a week for the whole summer.

    There are events every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
